Exclusively For You

June 29, 2017

Who would have thought that this piece is making a comeback after nearly a year?!

.  .  .  .  .  .

This fringed cardigan + poncho was the first & still is the biggest knitted item in my inventory. It was the first item I’ve ever made for myself even though I was already into my fourth month of knitting. It was one of the few early days of impromptu projects where I mostly knew how to only knit & purl. It took months to finish (distracted by the urge to make more toys, that’s for sure), several unplanned trips to get more yarn (wasn’t able to estimate correctly yet) & a fair bit of hours spent repeating the knitting – unravelling process.

It was an experiment & to some degree,  it could be just rubbish.

Or so I thought…

It is I dare say, a historical project in my books & to share it with you lots?

Well, you’ve got Anaïs & Sue to thank for. If it wasn’t for their requests & endless encouragements, this pattern would most probably remain as chucked away scribbles. Now properly compiled with a new name even (since I couldn’t decide on how to specify it, I call it CARCHO), it really is an honour to be able to share the pattern to all you fellow knitters on PashKnit’s mailing list.

See it as a thank you treat for being such darlings.

So quickly now… check your inboxes!

Don’t forget to show me your finished carcho, alright?

Until next time, happy knitting!

  1. Thank you for the carcho pattern – your talent is amazing. I was asked why I didn’t make my own patterns and I had to tell my son-in-law that it wasn’t so easy and I didn’t have talent or patience. I really admire people who do, like yourself. Meanwhile I am knitting a football for tha same son in law and then some dinosaurs he asked me to knit for his friend! The requests never stop so when would I have time to design? I hope you are having success with your new project. Best wishes, Hazel.
